The Purplarium was created by a small team of history buffs, nature enthusiasts, and fact finders, driven by a shared passion for uncovering and sharing the wonders of our world. Whether it’s a fascinating historical event, an amazing animal fact, or a significant global issue, we strive to engage and inform our audience.
The Purplarium is home to anything that’s interesting. We believe that you can enjoy learning about ancient history and bleeding edge technological innovation, nature and gaming, the fantastical and mystical and scientific discoveries, belief systems and quantum physics. Purplarium’s Founder, Katy Willis
Katy loves to learn about … everything! And the Purplarium gives her the opportunity to learn and share that knowledge with others. She’s neurodiverse, too, hence she has so many interests and such a broad knowledge base.
She is passionate about living naturally, growing food, keeping livestock, foraging, and making and using herbal remedies.
And she loves gaming, technology, biology, the universe, dragons, puzzles, and all kinds of other weirdness. She just loves to learn.
Katy is a writer, master herbalist, master gardener, and certified canine nutritionist who has been writing since 2002.
She finds joy in learning new and interesting things and finds history, science, and nature endlessly fascinating. She’s a huge science fiction and fantasy geek and a total history buff.
She’s also a prepper who likes to make sure her family is ready for anything, because you just never know.
